More reactions over Alma's death, alone and ignored

(Translation by Yusra Ahmed)

In his comment on the death of Alma Shahhod, one of the most bright icons of Syrian revolution, Zaman Alwasl’s Editor In-Chief, Fathi Bayoud, said: “Ahmad jarba and the coalition must resign from the political work and devote for relief work from their own pocket, to seek forgiveness from God and rebels for the death of thousands of martyrs and falling of many cities like Homs, Yabroud and Qusayr during their leadership for the coalition”

Bayoud carried on detailing how Jarba and the coalition have not fulfilled their roles in leading the revolution aying: “We, in Zaman Alwasl have been watching for a long time, hundreds of unpublished documents showing how the work in the coalition is run even in the most crucial time, like the falling of Qusayr and Homs, not to mention Yabroud and the Coast front, and how Jarba supports Deir Ezzor’s fighters in their fight against ISIS and prevent arms from the coast and other fronts. Enough is enough, we could not tolerate more lagging back and dereliction from serving the revolution”

The Editor drew Ahmad Jarba’s attention to his unneeded practices like renting luxurious cars and body guards to give the revolution prestige. Moreover, he mentioned that ignoring punishing leaders and supports who did not do their job in supporting rebels in the Northern countryside of Homs is considered a crime against the revolution. In the end he added that Jarba’s attempts to buy support from other political and military figures with money like paying USD 5000 to each is another crime, which is documented by a trusted figure.

In the end, Bayoud mentioned Alma Shahhod, the free rebel, who served people in Ghouta and Damascus countryside, and died alone in Jordan after she became barreled after injury, to find no one to bury her apart from two ladies and a Jordanian old man helped them.

Om-Ratib confirmed that she called all people who came to visit Alma before her death, but no one helped her, besides no one from the coalition or the Interim Government called her.

Abo Fahed explained the ignorance of Alma’s death and not participating in her funeral saying: “unfortunately, most people looking for fame at the expense of wounded and injured, and when they need their support, they left them. In her last days, Alma was very depressed and refused eating, I told relief agencies and workers, but nothing had been done, to die in the end.”
