Tension prevailed Yarmouk Camp yesterday when a group of young men wanted to sort out their legal situation with Syrian regime, Nusra front did not like that act and shot at people resulted in one injury at least.
In details, according to the latest agreement in regard to excluding Palestinian camps from conflict in Syria, 9 young men out of 50 wanted to Syrian regime, tried to hand them to the regime at Yarmouk Municipality situated in regime-controlled area.
Mahmood Nassar, an activist from Yarmouk, mentioned that people have fed up of the static unclear situation fluctuates between war and peace and wanted to break it and break siege to allow food in to thousands of people. All that implemented pressure on people wanted to regime to hand themselves. “on the other hand, Nusra front and other fighting groups considered that as an override to the excluding Camps agreement which turn the situation into a political compromising in favour of regime, Moreover, people who adopted that point of view considered sorting out the situation of more than 50 security members should be part of the deal” he detailed.
The activist added: “all those circumstances escalated the situation, especially when the reconciliation’s team wanted to sort the situation of many young men as first step, against opening the road to the camp, and other young men’s situation for other step by the regime. “However, Nusra front shot at the negotiation team and the camp returned to the static situation” the activist ended.
Many activists confirmed that young men had had a permission of the Sharea Authority before going to the Municipality and many people supported their decision because they wanted to break the killing siege that cause around 145 death of hunger, however, Nusra front did not want to end the crisis.
In the same time, some support entered the camp from UNRWA, but the amount of food was far less that the need.
