Another displaced toddler with congenital amputation hopes to install prosthetics in Turkey- Plea

(Zaman Al Wasl)- Father of the 3-year-old Asyaf, who was born with congenital amputation in Atmeh refugee camps, has appealed to the Turkish President and authorities to install prosthetic and arms limbs to his displaced son in Turkey.

The plea came just three weeks after a similar case for fellow Syrian displaced toddler was admitted in the Turkish hospitals.

Asyaf's father, who surfaced his child's suffering on social media, hopes that Asyaf will receive a response as the the Turkish government did for Muhammad Misaytif, a 14-month-old displaced from Northern Idlib province.

According to Daily Sabah, The Turkish doctors plan to install prosthetic legs and arms on Misaytif after he was brought to Turkey for treatment upon orders from Interior Minister Süleyman Soylu.



Misaytif is the son of a family living in Idlib, Syria where he was born with birth defects. When his father Khaled shared the boy’s photos on social media asking for Turkey’s help, authorities arranged for the family to travel to Hatay, a province bordering Syria. They arrived there on September 1.

The child was taken to Mustafa Kemal University Research and Training Hospital on Wednesday. Doctors there ran a health check on the boy and examined how prosthetic implants could be fitted.

The Turkish government acted fast upon hearing their plea for authorities and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan for hosting them.

Due the to the ten-year-old war, tens of a Syrian displaced children in refugee camps have been in need for prosthetics.
