A document obtained by Zaman Alwasl confirmed a meeting that took place between the Vice President of the interim government, Iyad Qudsi and an important political figure who until today is strongly affiliated with Assad's regime.
According to the document, Qudsi has individually met with Abdullah Dardari on 6/4/2014, in Germany, on the sidelines of the meeting of “Friends of Syria” on the same date.
And despite being described as a neutral representative of the United Nations, but according to Zaman Alwasl, Dardari went to Damascus about a month ago in a visit described as “related to his work in managing economic development and globalization in "ESCWA", but at the same time he asked to meet with head of the regime Bashar al-Assad to arrange a "political position", according to sources.
Dardari, who is a chief economist at Beirut-based U.N. Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA) and a former deputy prime minister in regime’s government, is one of Assad's closest allies and aides , in addition to being a close friend to Bashar’s brother, Bassel al-Assad.
