(Zaman Alwasl)- Appearing in an interview with Al Jazeera news channel, The Palestinian thinker Dr. Azmi Bishara renewed his predictions of the failure of Israel’s aggression on Gaza, which according to him will eventually break the siege on the strip after the cease-fire agreement, despite the difficult days the Palestinians have gone through.
Bishara, and during the program "Gaza resists", confirmed that the occupation army has tried to seize additional lands deep in Gaza strip on the eve of the truce, in order to destroy the tunnels, which is a breach of the agreed truce that supposed to enter into force on the eighth of Friday morning, but the resistance was watching like a hawk to ambush them.
And some Israeli media spoke on Friday morning, about what it called "a major security incident," without stating any additional details to justify the bombing conducted by the occupation army, which led to the death of about 74 Palestinians in Rafah only.
The director of the Arab Center for Research and Policy Studies, said that the truce came at the request of the international community and not an initiative from the region, due to the impact of pressure from U.S. Secretary of State, John Kerry, and the Secretary-General of the United Nations Ban Ki-moon, and he pointed out that the occupation army is punishing civilians because they are "enemies in its military ideology” referring to the death and injury of thousands of Palestinian civilians against three Israeli civilians.
The Palestinian politician accused Arabic stations, Egyptian in particular, of participating with the Israeli first, second and ten channels in promoting for the continuation of aggression on Gaza, which is overwhelmingly supported by the Israelis. According to him, this Egyptian propaganda aims to incite the Egyptian people against Hamas, taking advantage of the Arab and regional situation which is divided between passive, submissive Arabs, who are reluctant to support Palestinians, and those who oppose the resistance and wish to defeat it to prove their point of view.
Bishara also hinted that pro-regime Egyptian channel insisted that the Palestinian negotiating delegation be limited to only the Palestinian liberation organization (PLO), noting that weeks of negotiations allowed the representative of the resistance movement "Hamas" to be in Cairo for negotiations.
In this regard, and in his previous two interviews, Azmi shed the light on the most critical points that undermined all efforts to stop the Palestinian bloodshed in more than two weeks as well as to reach a reasonable ceasefire that guarantees the legitimate rights of Gaza’s people who suffer severe siege by both sides, Israel and Egypt, and he also stressed on the importance of the Egyptian role, saying:” Everyone is waiting for Cairo to have an Arab leading role, away from its regime, being the closest geographically and the largest demographically”.
Moreover, he also unraveled that the negotiations have led to setting a time for the truce, in addition to putting the resistance’s terms on the negotiating table, pointing out that the world will not accept the continuation of Gaza’s siege after the failure of the aggression.
According to him, the Israeli aggression hasn’t faced a serious Arab resistance camp, attributing that to the confluence of the interests of Israel with dictatorial regimes who fear the change that comes as a result of the Arab Spring, adding that one of the achievements of the resistance in Gaza, is that it has raised the morale of freedom-seekers, and the same time shocked the morale of dictatorial regimes and its supporters in the region.
Lastly, he described the statements announced by the Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, and the Secretary General of Hezbollah, which condemned Israel's aggression on Gaza as a way to “avoid the blame”, acting as the self-proclaimed "axis of resistance", which portrays itself as guardian of the Palestinian cause, despite their involvement in the sectarian fighting with dictator regimes, in reference to their role in Syria and Iraq.
