An improvised explosive device went out in the turkish-held town of Ras al-Ayn north of Hasakah city, leaving three people wounded, local activists said Monday.
A local source told Zaman al-Wasl that the IED attack caused some material damage to shops and a car parked in the town center, pointing out that the explosion came after two days of tension due to infighting within the al-Hamza division in the eastern district of the town.
Last week, 4 children and a woman, along with 3 fighters of the National Army, were killed as a result of a house explosion near the Great Mosque in the center of Ras al-Ayn.
Also, a member of the Syrian National Army was killed last Tuesday and another wounded in a car bomb explosion near the Osama bin Zaid school at the eastern entrance to Ras al-Ayn.
The Turkish military and the Syrian National Army attacked Kurdish forces in northeastern Syria on October 9, 2019 with the aim of creating a roughly 30-kilometer (20-mile) deep buffer zone.
Ankara views the YPG as a terrorist group linked to Kurdish militants on its own soil and has mounted military operations in northern Syria to push it back from the border.
