Zaman al-Wasl reporter in Damascus mentioned that Syrian regime suffer of shortage of mandatory service soldiers recently, especially after the withdrawal of Iraqi militias from Syria to fight ISIS in Iraq. Moreover, big number of young men have refused to join the army.
Our reported said that catching young-men who fell behind has become the most important duty of security barriers in the city.
Residents mentioned that flying barriers became familiar in Damascus’s markets, consist of members from the military police, and the criminal security. Those barriers stop young-men and inspect them and check if they are wanted for mandatory army service. Flying barriers mostly situated in Salhiya and Baramka. Eye witnesses reported that three young-men were caught a day before near SANA building.
In Homs, residents in al-Ghout and al-Inshaat reported that regime has applied census for family in the neighbourhoods and concentrated on males at the mandatory military service age.
Recruiting Divisions witness these days scarcity and low number of young-men who join the military service, in the same time, application to defer joining the military service for studying, or travelling after paying s.p100 thousand ve increased. Other options young-men have is leaving to liberated areas which do not follow the regime’s law.
