Regime government raises gasoline price

On Tuesday, the government of the Syrian regime raised the price of a liter of gasoline, which is the second increase in three weeks, which comes amid a great shortage of oil derivatives.

The Ministry of Internal Trade announced, on its Facebook page, that the selling price of a liter of 95-octane gasoline has increased to 5,750 Syrian pounds.

On December 14, the ministry raised the price of 95-octane gasoline to 5,300 Syrian pounds per liter, from 4,000 Syrian pounds per liter.

Prime Minister Hussein Arnous said, during the cabinet session, on Tuesday, that "the recent bottlenecks in oil derivatives are on their way to a breakthrough in light of the frequent arrival of supplies according to a specific program, in a manner that improves securing the demand for the substance."

Pro-regime news websites revealed the arrival of an oil tanker several days ago, which partially relieved the situation, revealing that another tanker was on its way to Syria.

The loyal Syriasteps website said, commenting on the Prime Minister's statements, that Syria's need for oil reaches four tankers per month, in order for the situation to improve completely, while in the event that only two tankers arrive, the breakthrough will not happen as promised by the government.
