Opposition Caretaker Prime Minister seeks 'Bloodless Coup': secret meeting

GAZIANTEP (Zaman Al Wasl)- A well-informed source says the outgoing Prime Minster of the Interim Government is massing support of his hometown workers within the opposition group to back him to win another mandate as well as to press on his rivals by monopolizing powers and forming new political party and armed faction.

According to sources, a secret meeting recently has been held in Turkish city of Gaziantep by Ahmed Tumeh’s office manager, Aamer al-Aani with number of Interim government workers, mostly from Deir Ezzor province east Syria, Tumeh’s hometown, to drum up support for another mandate.

Tu’meh is planning to make his own 'Bloodless Coup', source says.

The conferees agreed in principle to form their lobby which can control all government work joints, also agreed to form a political party backed by an armed group inside Syria, where Tu’meh can provide financial support through his international relations. All these acts will endorse Tu’meh stand to lead the upcoming government, they concluded.

Tu'meh, 49, a self-proclaimed moderate Islamist, succeeded Ghassan Hitto in leading the National Coalition interim government in 14 September 2013.  His government had faced sharp criticism by opposition figures and activists before being dissolved on 22 July by NC.

In relevant development, Tu’meh has dismissed two journalists working in the government media center over accusations of leaking information to media outlets, according to Zaman al-Wasl sources.

Meanwhile, at least 191,369 people have been killed in Syria's conflict; more than double the figure documented a year ago and probably still an under-estimate, according to the United Nations human rights office.
