Syrian pound records new low

The Syrian pound continued its course towards collapse, for the fifth day in a row, to record an unprecedented exchange rate against the dollar and the euro, during Thursday's trading.

In the outcome of daily transactions, and compared to the closing prices of the previous day, the “Aleppo dollar” rose 300 pounds, to close between 13,900 pounds for purchase and 14,000 pounds for sales.

This is the first time in the history of the Syrian currency that it touched the barrier of 14,000 pounds against one $1.

The $1 recorded in Homs and Hama, the same prices as the "Aleppo dollar".

Meanwhile, the “Damascus dollar” increased by 400 pounds, to become between 13,700 pounds for purchase and 13,800 pounds for sale.

The dollar recorded in Latakia and Tartous, and in Daraa and Sweida, the same prices as the "Damascus dollar".

As for the Idlib dollar, it increased by 200 pounds, to become between 13,400 pounds for purchase and 13,500 pounds for sale.

The dollar recorded in Afrin, Azaz, al-Bab and Manbij, as well as in Raqqa and Deir ez-Zor, and in al-Hasakah and Qamishli, the same prices as the "Idlib dollar", or close to it.

Returning to Damascus, the euro rose 450 pounds, to between 15,065 pounds for purchase and 15,165 pounds for sale.

This is the first time that the exchange rate of the euro has exceeded 15,000 Syrian pounds.

The Turkish exchange rate in Damascus increased by 15 Syrian pounds, to become between 500 Syrian pounds for purchase and 510 Syrian pounds for sale.

Meanwhile, the Turkish exchange rate in Idlib increased by 7 Syrian pounds, to become between 488 Syrian pounds for purchase and 498 Syrian pounds for sale.

The exchange rate of the Turkish dollar against the dollar in Idlib ranged between 26.03 Turkish liras for purchase and 27.03 Turkish liras for sale.

While the official exchange rate for "remittance dollars" increased by 200 pounds, to become 10,100 pounds.
