The Syrian Ministry of Interior announced today, Thursday, that the Israeli occupation army has withdrawn from the western countryside of Daraa, southern Syria, after entering the areas adjacent to the buffer zone last week and violating the 1974 ceasefire agreement.
The new government ministry confirmed the return of UN patrols to the buffer zone, which enhances international efforts to maintain stability in that sensitive area.
The ministry explained that the Israeli occupation withdrew from the towns of "Jamla, Al-Shajara, Beit Qara, Koya, Maariyah, and Saida" but is still stationed in the villages adjacent to the border strip in Quneitra Governorate and in the "Mount Sheikh" area.
The Syrian Ministry of Interior also reported the arrival of the Quneitra Governorate Police Commander with his personnel to the governorate and taking over their duties there, as part of strengthening security and order in the border areas.
In addition, Zaman Al-Wasl obtained information confirming that the Israeli occupation army reinforced its deployment today, Thursday, in the town of Hader, one of the villages of "Mount Sheikh" in the Syrian Golan Heights, which is 75 kilometers southwest of Damascus.
The sources confirmed that the Israeli occupation forces sent personnel carriers and armored vehicles to the town of Hader and reinforced its military points deployed there, which indicates the Israeli occupation's desire to fortify its deployment areas in Mount Hermon.
