(Zaman Al Wasl)- Despite Washington's official statements that the goal of the international coalitions strikes in Syria, is to defeat “Islamic State” without helping Assad's government, but since the bombing campaign began, Assad's government has raised no objections and emphasised that it was informed of the bombing in advance. Washington acknowledges notifying Syria and its main ally Iran about the bombings but denies coordinating with them.
Meanwhile, and according to Western diplomatic sources, the united States has decided with some regional and international countries to maintain the regime of Bashar Al Assad for a long time, noting that Washington’s decision came after deep consultations in the National Security Council, which relied on information from the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), to indicate that the survival of Al Assad is very beneficial to prevent the Islamists from reaching power if the regime collapsed, in addition to protecting Israel borders from Jabhet Al Nusra’s attacks.
The sources confirmed that Washington informed Tehran during a meeting that took place between deputies U.S. Secretary of State, "William Burns" and "Wendy Sherman," and deputies foreign minister of Iran, "Abbas Araghchi" and "Majid Takht-Ravanchi ", and the talks dealt with Iran’s nuclear program, in addition to the Syrian file.
Moreover, the diplomatic sources have linked the US-Iranian meeting with the meeting of Saudi Foreign Minister Saud al-Faisal, and his Iranian counterpart, Javad Zarif, in New York on the side-lines of the General Assembly of the United Nations, pointing out that Saudi Arabia began to converge with Tehran within the framework of war on terrorism, but they are still at a far distance.
The sources pointed out, that Washington is considering in the future, to rely on Assad’s army to control some areas left by the "Islamic state", but they prefer not to communicate directly in order not to cause inconvenience to the opposition, which has the difficult task of confronting the Islamic group on land, and the sources also hinted to the regime’s refusal to face the Islamic state in the battle field, leaving this exhausting and long battle to FSA army and other factions to do.
Al Assad has committed during the revolution and even before, systematic mass murder using his regime's 'Machinery of Death' resulting in atrocities and genocides never seen since the Nazis and Adolf Hitler.
And the international community who has repeatedly called for Assad’s departure and consistently condemned his actions in a four-year of bloody war, has shown no appetite for using military power to force him out, or punish it for its horrendous massacres and using chemical weapons against Syrians ,instead gave him endless red lines to cross.
