Syrians ranked third in the list of foreign brides and grooms in Turkey, according to the Turkish Statistical Authority's announcement of marriage and divorce data for the year 2024. According to the data, the number of couples who got married in 2024 reached 568,395, while the number of divorces reached 187,343.
The crude marriage rate, which expresses the number of marriages per thousand population, was 6.65 per thousand, while the divorce rate was 2.19 per thousand.

According to the source, the highest crude marriage rate in 2024 was in Adiyaman at 7.76 per thousand.

The provinces with the lowest marriage rates were Tunceli with 4.01 per thousand, Gümüşhane with 4.30 per thousand, and Bayburt with 4.89 per thousand.
Highest Divorce Rate
In the same context, Antalya ranked first in divorce rates with 3.29 per thousand. Izmir (3.09 per thousand) and Karaman (3.04 per thousand) were among the other provinces with high divorce rates.
Hakkari (0.45 per thousand), Şırnak (0.55 per thousand), and Siirt (0.60 per thousand) were the provinces with the lowest divorce rates.
The number of foreign brides in the total marriages was 29,115, accounting for 5.1 percent of the total brides. The number of foreign grooms was 5,923, accounting for 1 percent of the total grooms.
When examined by nationality, Syrians ranked first among foreign grooms with 20.6 percent. German grooms came in second with 19.5 percent, and Afghan grooms came in third with 5.7 percent.

Among foreign brides, Syrian and Uzbek brides shared first place with 12.1 percent.
Moroccan brides came in second with 8.3 percent, and Azerbaijani brides came in third with 7.5 percent.
33.7 percent of divorces in 2024 occurred within the first five years of marriage.
21.3 percent of divorces occurred in marriages that lasted between 6 and 10 years.
As a result of the final divorce cases, 186,536 children were granted custody, and it turned out that custody mostly went to the mother. Last year, 74.4 percent of child custody was granted to mothers and 25.6 percent to fathers.
