The United Nations Humanitarian Coordinator for Syria Adam Abdelmoula confirmed that Syria is currently at a "vital turning point," especially in light of the new era the country is witnessing. He noted that the ongoing conflict has left 16.5 million people in need of humanitarian assistance.
Abdelmoula stressed the need for a cessation of hostilities in Syria, emphasizing the importance of ensuring unhindered humanitarian access to all areas.
He added that humanitarian organizations are currently redoubling their efforts to meet urgent needs in the country.
Regarding the situation in Suwayda, Abdelmoula noted that it remains calm, with the exception of the Israeli incursion into the south.
He also confirmed that there has been significant improvement in women's access to various areas of Syria.
Abdelmoula explained that the humanitarian situation and the humanitarian operating environment in Syria have become much better than in the past, noting that the biggest challenge facing humanitarian work in northeastern Syria is the lack of funding.
Regarding the Constitutional Declaration, Abdul Mawla emphasized that it stipulates equality among all Syrians, emphasizing that it contains no troubling provisions related to women's rights.
