Leaked documents from the Syrian regime's Military Intelligence Division, specifically Unit 215, reveal a recurring pattern of mysterious deaths of Jordanian detainees inside regime prisons. These deaths were covered up by bureaucratically worded medical reports, while the evidence suggests the deaths were the result of torture.
The documents, dating from 2014 to 2018, indicate that some detainees died in intelligence detention centers, and their bodies were then transferred to Harasta Military Hospital, where they were kept without notification to their families or the bodies being handed over, pending subsequent security instructions.
On December 16, 2014, a correspondence documented the death of Jordanian detainee Ahed Abdullah Ali Khreibiyat, born in Salt in 1972, as a result of "sudden cardiac and respiratory arrest," a term the regime routinely uses in cases of death under torture. The document included instructions not to bury him or hand over his body.

In another document dated January 8, 2018, the name of another Jordanian detainee, Muhammad Munir Abdul Qader al-Sa'aydeh, born in 1986, appears. His body was sent to Harasta Military Hospital with explicit instructions not to detain it or hand it over to his family, confirming the existence of a systematic policy in dealing with foreign torture victims.
The official seals and signatures of senior officers on the documents indicate that these practices were part of an internal security system that left no room for chance or discretion, but rather were based on clear orders issued by the leadership of the Security Division.
