Türkiye’s Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, his Syrian counterpart Asaad al-Shaibani and Jordanian counterpart Ayman Safadi on Monday reiterated their commitment to supporting Syria’s security, stability and sovereignty in a joint news conference in the Turkish capital Ankara.
On Israel's aggression in Syrian territories, Hakan Fidan said Tel Aviv's expansionism "has reached a point where it threatens Syria's stability and security" in a joint news conference in the capital Ankara.
For his behalf, Ayman Safadi said that Jordan is coordinating with Türkiye, Syria, Arab states, and the international community “to end Israel’s aggression” on Syrian territory.
“Our position with Türkiye and Syria is united in supporting Syria’s security, stability, and sovereignty, and in working together to confront all challenges,” says the foreign minister.

“We are coordinating with our brothers in Syria and Türkiye, as well as with fellow Arab nations and the international community, to put an end to Israeli aggression against Syria,” he added.
Syria’s territorial unity is non-negotiable. Syria is a sovereign, indivisible state, and it will remain so,” he stressed.
Regarding repeated Israeli attacks on Syrian territory, Asaad Shaibani condemned the “systematic violations of international law and blatant provocations that threaten to ignite the entire region.”
“Syria’s territorial unity is non-negotiable. Syria is a sovereign, indivisible state, and it will remain so,” he stressed.
The top diplomat warned that any delay in executing the agreement “would prolong instability, invite foreign interference, and fuel separatist tendencies.”
“We reaffirm today our commitment to strengthening military and security coordination between Syria, Türkiye, and Jordan. This partnership is no longer optional; it is an urgent necessity,” Shaibani said.
He announced the foundations of a new political phase, including the formation of a national parliament that reflects the full diversity of the Syrian people.
“This is not merely a technical step, but a pivotal milestone on the path to restoring legitimate and representative governance,” he said.
Shaibani said that Syria has launched structured dialogue and cooperation with Türkiye’s Foreign Ministry aimed at building long-term institutional trust.
“In this context,” he added, “we are pleased to announce practical steps to reopen the Embassy of the Syrian Arab Republic in Ankara and to open a new consulate in Gaziantep, in addition to our existing mission in Istanbul.”
He further revealed an agreement with Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi to hold a high-level intergovernmental summit in Damascus in the near future.
Shaibani issued a strong appeal for the immediate reassessment of sanctions imposed on Syria amid efforts to ensure the safe, voluntary, and dignified return of Syrian refugees.
Fighting against terror groups in Syria
For his behalf, Hakan Fidan said that preventing terrorist organizations from exploiting is "our priority,” pointing out the current situation in Syria.
Noting that a state-level group involving five countries in the region is fighting ISIS (Daesh), Hakan Fidan pointed out the importance of combating the terror group, adding that today's meeting also discussed concrete steps that can be taken and what can be done.
The Turkish foreign minister, citing the presence of the YPG/PKK terrorist organization in Syrian territories, said the fact that one-third of Syrian territory is under the occupation of the YPG terror group poses a threat to Syria.
For his behalf, Ayman Safadi said that his discussions with the Turkish and Syrian foreign ministers took up mechanisms “to counter Daesh/ISIS and all forms of terrorism, as terrorism is a threat to us all.”
Assad al-Shaibani said the Syrian leadership is now in the process of implementing a national agreement with the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) “to unify all territories under the authority of the central state.”
"While we recognize this is a complex and sensitive process, it is essential," he added.
Hakan Fidan further stated that there are practical steps to be taken following the decision to dissolve the PKK terror group, and that Ankara will closely monitor them.
If the decision to dissolve the PKK terror group is implemented "sincerely, it will be very beneficial for everyone, for our future," Fidan said.
Shaibani hailed the dissolution of the PKK terror group as a step towards restoring security and ending repeated violence in the region.
