The Arab Center for Research and Policy Studies announced the results of a poll it conducted on a sample of 3,690 people.

- 80 to 94 percent feel hopeful, joyful, happy, and relieved about the fall of Bashar al-Assad's regime.
- 57 percent said the political situation was "good or very good," and 56 percent said the security situation was also "good or very good."

- 66 percent rated the economic situation as "bad or very bad."

The results of a poll showed that 56 percent of Syrians believe the country is "moving in the right direction."

This was revealed in a poll conducted by the Qatar-based think tank, the results of which were announced on Sunday.

The center explained that it conducted the survey in Syria in cooperation with the Arab Center for Contemporary Syrian Studies, noting that the survey is part of the 2025 Arab Index surveys.

The survey was conducted on a sample of 3,690 people, from a multi-stage stratified cluster sample, representative of Syrian society in all governorates and all social and economic groups, with a margin of error ranging between ±2 and 3 percent, according to the center.

The center stated that the survey results showed that Syrian public opinion is "filled with hope and optimism regarding the situation in Syria in general. Fifty-six percent of respondents stated that things in Syria are going in the right direction, while 25 percent stated that things are going in the wrong direction."

Those who stated that things are "going in the right direction" focused on several factors in their assessment: including the fall of the former regime's rule, the liberation of Syria, the release of detainees and prisoners, an improvement in the security situation, a move toward stability, and the lifting of sanctions, according to the center.

Between 80 and 94 percent of Syrians expressed hope, joy, happiness, and relief over the fall of Bashar al-Assad's regime.

57 percent of Syrians surveyed reported that the political situation in the country was "good or very good," while 56 percent rated the security situation as "good or very bad." However, 66 percent rated the economic situation as "bad or very bad."

The survey was conducted from July 25 to August 17, 2025.

This survey is considered "the first of its kind in Syria's history in terms of sample size and coverage of all governorates," according to the center.

On December 8, 2024, Syrian factions took control of Syria, ending 61 years of Baath Party rule and 53 years of Assad family control.
