Al-Sharaa: I met with world leaders in New York, They appreciate what Syria has achieved

Syrian President Ahmad al-Sharaa said that lifting sanctions on Syria is not an end in itself, but rather a means to serve the people and promote infrastructure development. He emphasized the global consensus on the importance of Syria's unity and stability.

In statements reported by the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA), al-Sharaa added that his meetings with world leaders and politicians in New York on the sidelines of the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly confirmed the international community's appreciation for the achievements of the Syrian people and rejected any calls to divide the country. He emphasized that "the unity of the people is an inevitable duty and the basis for rebuilding it under the rule of law."

Loyalty to the people speech after raising more than $208 million to support the northwestern province

Syrian President Ahmad al-Sharaa addressed the people of Idlib upon his return from New York as part of the "Loyalty to Idlib" campaign, which recently concluded and raised more than $208 million in donations to support the province and rebuild affected areas.

During his speech at the campaign, Al-Sharaa said, "I was preparing a speech after our return from the UN General Assembly to brief you on what happened to us, so I chose to deliver the speech here in Idlib, out of loyalty."

The President added, "Thanks to all of you, Syria has held its head high among nations and restored its dignity and pride. With your actions, you have astonished and astonished the world. I have met with the world's great figures and prominent politicians, and I have seen reverence, respect, and appreciation for the greatness of your actions."

President Al-Shara emphasized that "the unity of the Syrian people is an inevitable duty and the foundation for rebuilding a new Syria in which all its people participate without discrimination." He emphasized the importance of concerted national efforts and leveraging global engagement with the Syrian people's cause. He considered lifting sanctions a means to attract investment, improve the economy, develop infrastructure, and create job opportunities to rebuild the country.

Al-Sharaa added, "I chose Idlib today to address the people of Syria out of gratitude for it. It was the mother to whom her children were loyal. It transformed into a miniature Syria when the world became too small for its capacity. The people sided with it and all participated in this historic achievement."

The President concluded his speech by calling for loyalty to the governorate, its reconstruction, and the enabling of displaced persons to return to their homes.

The campaign was supported by businessmen, dignitaries, and various segments of society, as part of efforts to restore the services and living conditions of the people of Idlib after years of war and difficult economic conditions, in addition to the sanctions imposed on various sectors of the Syrian state before the fall of the former regime.
