HAMA (Zaman Al Wasl)- Syrian regime air forces on Monday conducted more 23 raids on Hama northen countryside in readiness to launch ground offensive on rebel-held areas, activists and monitoring group said.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said the number of air raids carried out on the two towns of Morek and Allatamneh has risen to 23, amid dropping more barrel bombs onto the towns of Allatamneh and Kafr Zeita as well as the village of Letmin.
The regime forces also have bombarded areas in the town of Allatamneh with no information about casualties, the Observatory added.
Al-Qaeda wing in Syria, Nusra Front and Free Syrian Army fighters in the northern countryside of Hama have launched sudden attacks on Bashar al-Assad’s forces backed by Lebanese Hezbollah movement and National Defence militia near Morek.
Meanwhile, Assad’s forces have massed troops to overrun Kafer Zeita village in retaliation to the painful blows by rebels who captured a military base and killed more than 30 troops on Thursday, according to Hama Media Center.
Muhannad Yousef, media activist, said regime army is planning to storm Kafr Zeita since it has been main route for arm supplies to rebels in Morek and Allatamneh.
Hama Media Center said Assad’s warplanes have dropped at least 223 barrel bombs on Kafr Zeita in 6 weeks.
Clashes in Hama Front have sparked after long calm between Assad's forces and rebels in the historic province which had witnessed bloody clashes and memorable protests at the beginning of Syrian uprising in 2011.
More than 191,000 people killed and over 9million forced to flee their homes.
