The minister confirmed that the video released by the ministry is "the first step in a documentary series" that specialized teams of judges and experts have been working on for months. The aim of this series is to be "a transparent window" informing citizens about the meticulous work being done on the most sensitive cases in modern Syrian history.
Focus on Grave Violations
The minister emphasized that the work focuses on documenting "grave violations, including unlawful death sentences and deaths under torture in what became known as field courts."
He also affirmed "clearly and impartially" the tireless work to reach "the whole truth, preserve the rights of victims, determine responsibilities, and hold accountable all those who violated the Syrian people's right to life and dignity, according to a clear law and uncompromising standards of justice."
Cooperation with Families and Strengthening the File
The Minister described the file of victims and missing persons as "a humanitarian and ethical issue before it is a legal one." In this regard, he announced:
- Establishing practical mechanisms for direct communication with the families of the missing and detained, in cooperation with the Missing Persons Commission.
- The goal of this communication is to keep families informed of developments with "a precise methodology that considers their feelings and respects their suffering."
He also addressed a firm message to those attempting to exploit or cast doubt, emphasizing that "this file is protected from manipulation and exploitation, and is managed solely from a perspective of justice and fairness." He stressed that "the issue of the missing and detained is not an arena for settling scores, but rather a paramount national responsibility."
The Minister concluded his tweets with a message of reassurance: "Rest assured, the path is clear, and the truth does not expire with time."
