Security Forces seized an arms cache on a farm in the eastern Daraa countryside on Tuesday, Brigadier General Mohamad al-Sukhni, the Internal Security Commander in Daraa Governorate, told the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) that the operation followed precise intelligence regarding a warehouse containing missiles intended for smuggling. Specialized units initiated surveillance and monitoring operations, culminating in a well-executed raid that resulted in the seizure of the cache.
Al-Sukhni explained that 42 Malutka missiles and four Metis missiles, along with a launch platform, were found inside the warehouse. These were confiscated according to established procedures, and the site was fully secured in accordance with approved protocols.
He added that investigations are ongoing to identify all those involved and bring them to justice.
The Internal Security Commander emphasized that "our forces remain prepared to confront anyone who attempts to tamper with the security of the nation," urging citizens to cooperate and report any suspicious activity, as security is a shared responsibility.
This operation is part of the efforts of the Internal Security Forces to reduce the illegal trade in weapons, and to enhance cooperation between security agencies and citizens to maintain the security and stability of the country.
