FaceBook restricts freedom of expression with unfair blocking : Syria Activists

Syrian cyber activists have accused recently the Face Book Company of restricting their freedom of expression in the digital world after blocking most of the active pages that cover the Syrian revolution under pretext of abusing the policy of privacy like posting photos and publications linked to Jihadist groups like Jabhat al-Nusrah and other rebels' pages.

We tried to transmit the truth by posting photos of rubble, demolished buildings and photos of martyrs, activists said.

One of the closed pages was page of well-known media activist Hadi al-Abdullah with '200 thousands subscribers' to the page, another page was 'Maghsal and mash-ham Homs' with 140 thousands subscribers, and al-Khalidiya coordination's page, with 50 thousands subscribers.

The latest unfair blocking is restricting the freedom of speech, the activists said.

''We demand face Book administration to be aware of our situation in Syria after 27-month of war,'' activists said, adding, ''facebook turned to be our basic channel to the world, to transfer suffer and misery.''

Social media is basic pillar in our work were we can deliver the live news to the globe without being hostages of Arabic or western media.
