$7 billion to be invested in building a city west of Damascus

The Syrian sovereign wealth fund signed a major investment agreement with the UAE's Arada Group to develop an integrated city west of Damascus, with a total value estimated at approximately $7 billion. This marks one of the most prominent development and urban partnerships in the region.

The project spans a total area of four million square meters in a strategic location near the Mezzeh district on a high plateau. The new city is only about 10 minutes from the center of Damascus and approximately 25 minutes from Damascus International Airport, giving it a significant competitive advantage in connecting modern residential living with vibrant commercial and tourist activity.

The city is designed to offer a comprehensive model for modern, sustainable living. At its heart lies a vast public park covering 700,000 square meters, providing a natural and environmental haven for residents and visitors. The project's master plan includes approximately 11,000 diverse residential units, ranging from spacious apartments and luxury villas to townhouses, in addition to branded residential units.

The city is not limited to residential areas; it also includes a comprehensive hospitality sector with 500 hotel rooms and 1,000 attached hotel apartments, along with service infrastructure that includes state-of-the-art educational facilities designed to accommodate approximately 5,000 students, and a modern, fully equipped 300-bed hospital to provide the highest levels of healthcare for residents.

This project represents a qualitative leap in the Syrian real estate and urban development sector, and it is planned to contribute to creating thousands of job opportunities and stimulating economic and investment activity in the country in the coming years.
