(Zaman Al Wasl)- The radical Islamic State of Iraq and Syria agreed to allow people of the stricken tribe of Sheitat returning to their villages in Deir Ezzor province after months of displacement, local source told Zaman al-Wasl.
The militant group stipulated on the tribesmen to pledge allegiance and not to ‘betray’ again, otherwise death will be their destiny as their fellows tasted last August when the ISIS executed 700 Sheitat civilians.
The Islamic State has imposed harsh conditions on Sheitat people who agree to return home. The ‘State’ has imposed a curfew between 8 p.m and 5 a.m, as well all meeting will be banned among the tribe members, local activists reported to Zaman al-Wasl.
The Islamic State's campaign of extreme violence and abuses against both civilians and rival opposition groups has prompted a backlash across rebel-held Syria, where many hope the US air campaign will be extended, according to AFP.
More than 190,000 people have been killed since the start of Syria's uprising against Bashar Assad in March 2011, according to the United Nations.
