Gaziantep (Zaman Al Wasl)- Many armed groups and battalions in Syria, have announced yesterday forming the “Syrian Revolution Leadership Council” as a part of “Hang on” initiative, which aims to unite the revolutionary forces, forming an independent Judicial body, work to gather the revolution’s grassroots and support it to continue the revolution.
The council’s agreement was signed by 17 fighting battalions during the foundation conference. Nusra front and Islamic State were not among the signatories.
Counselor Qais al-Sheikh, was designated as the head of the council, Ahmed al-Ragheb a deputy, and Naji Nahar a secretary with 11 members of the Executive office from all the Syrian provinces.
The agreement has identified 3 axises of work, “Political, Military and civil” besides working on strengthening the regional and international relation without affecting the revolution’s bases. The agreement insisted on forming judicial administrations in the liberated areas with cooperation each other.
Moreover, the agreement recommended sticking to the Islamic identity of the Syrian community and insuring the unity of Syrian land and people and refusing all dividing plans. It insisted on fighting all terrorism forms by the Syrian regime and its allies, besides stopping all wrong practices which badly affect the revolution and people, like wrongly expiating.
Rules and law would be based on Islam and Shora, to build a practical cooperative community and independent country rejecting all external dictation. The agreement drew attention to the public and private properties and the need to protect them and restore the damaged ones.
The Council’s preparatory committee refused any interference or fund from any country or external force in the conference, to prevent any effect or dominance of any faction, party or organization on the council, according to Zaman al-Wasl’s correspondent.
Our correspondent mentioned that Islamic Front had participated in the council separately, each faction on its own, to facilitate decision making.
He added that the Council intended to form a central Army of 6000 fighters.
Judge Qais al-Sheikh, the Head of the Council, had announced his resignation from his position as a Minister of Justice of the Interim Government shortly after he was agreeably designated as the Head of the Council, via a statement on his Facebook page.
