(Zaman Al Wasl)- “Say no to
sedition, yes to the Arab-Kurdish brotherhood, we have the same wound” has been
the theme of the initiative to help displaced people in Eastern North of
Hasaka.
Suffering of displaced people has
been worsened by the bad weather and the snow storm.
Roya Mao’o, a supervisor of the
initiative said to Zaman al-Wasl: “we have two main goals of the initiative, an
urgent goal to help displaced people in the region, since most of them live in
inhabitable houses, with no windows or doors or any source of warming, after
they were forced to leave their own houses because of battles.”
She added that most of displaced
people don’t have any source of food, so they collect the remnant from waste
and garbage of the vegetable and fruit market, beside the spread of
dermatological and respiratory diseases, because they burn unhealthy materials
to get warmth.
Roya confirmed that organisations
and other institutions responsible for distributing aid were unfair as they
gave priority to some groups more than others according to political loyalty
and ethnicity, which increased the separation and dividing among people.
“Therefore, our initiative aims
to defuse the tension between Arabs and Kurds, which is our second main goal.” Roya
expressed her gratitude to the wide cooperation from people with the initiative;
she thought that because it told their wishes and expressed their attitude.
Aziz Biro, the manager of the
initiative, explained to Zaman al-Wasl that main motive to the initiative was
the case of Mohammed Abdullah, who lost his two feet because of cold last year
when they lived in a cows' stable with no facilities, which led to constriction
of blood vessels in his feet for a long time, leading to ischemia and gangrene,
then they needed amputation.
“Now the boy’s family with other
70 families are living in under-construction building near the national
Hospital, and 300 other family in other buildings.
Responsible for the initiative insisted that the initiative’s goals are purely humanitarian to help the let-down people, besides attempting to reduce tension and congestions between Arab and Kurds.
