National Forces Rally in Sweida province has issued a statement condemning the attempt of assassinating the well-known national figure, Abu Moeen Jamal Hunaidi, by an armed group.
The statement referred the
crime responsibility to the Regime security forces as Mr. Hunaidi is known of
his support to Syrian Revolution. Hunaidi tried his best to abort regime
attempt to spoil the good relationships between Sweida and Daraa, and he
resolved many arguments erupted on sectarian backgrounds between the two
cities, besides, his prominent role in releasing hostages from both sides.
Most coordinators and national
forces and groups signed the statement and they warned of the serious
consequences of this incident and its impact on the city stability. The
assault threatened the civil peace in
the city which dominated by Druze.
Activists considered the
attack on Mr. Hunaidi is a real threat to the civil peace and a clear message
to the people of the city.
Another warning sign of
accelerating the tension in Sweida was a request made by Ali Mamlouk, head of
the Office of Homeland Security Office in Syria to start a lawsuit against Ms.
Muntaha al-Atrash under supporting terrorism charges. Montaha al-Atrash is the daughter
Sultan Pasha al-Atrash, and granddaughter of Mujahid Sheikh Thuqan Atrash, both
were national leader who led many battles against the Ottoman occupation, and
she is known for her solid support to the Syrian revolution since the
beginning.
