Charlie Hebdo prints five million more copies

Five million more copies of the weekly Charlie Hebdo magazine were printed on Saturday, French media reported.

Twelve people were killed on Jan. 7, when masked gunmen attacked the Paris headquarters of the magazine, which is known for printing controversial material, including cartoons of Prophet Muhammad in 2006 and 2012.

The weekly has sold two million copies of its latest issue so far. Many people stood in long lines to buy a copy.

If the new batch is sold out, the magazine will break a record in the country’s publishing history -- with seven million copies for the edition.

Charlie Hebdo normally prints 60,000 copies a week.
