The documentary is produced by Zaman al-Wasl. 


The arrest by the Assad regime is systematic, especially with women where the arrest have become a lethal weapon and despicable. It’s a double-edged knife or more. It depends on intimidating the female detainee, breaking her psychologically, humiliating her family and taking revenge from the opposition milieu.. And most importantly, depriving the detainee of her future.



The society perspective over the female detainee is engulfed with indictment and suspicion due to regime leaks about atrocities committed against them by the prison officers and flagellant.

The woman prisoner pays double price for a crime she never committed. 

If we assume that demanding your right to live in dignity is a crime.

There is no accurate numerical data for women prisoners or a number of those died under torture.

The Arab Organization for Human Rights says the number of female detainees in the regime prisons is more than 175,000. Other stats made by advocate groups reveal lower or higher number.. But injustice is still injustice.. whatever the number.

The first shout for freedom has broken the fear of Syrians, it was the voice of all. Men, women.. young men and girls.

Syrian women were there at the first peaceful demonstrations and were among the first arrested.

In March 2011, the Syrian people took to the streets to say their word, after an age-long congestion, decades of oppression and tyranny.. They called for freedom, demanding their natural right to live an honorable life where social justice and liberty..

Everybody participated in the revolution; bullets of regime forces indiscriminately shot in the face of all. Martyrs were men, women and children.

Arrest campaigns tracked all civilians, no norm or moral standard took into consideration.

Arrest campaigns were random.. mass punishment and intimidation.. most of female detainees had no active role in the demonstrations.. but they had been arrested because they were residents of a certain area, or from a revolutionary city.. Some were arbitrarily detained by the regime to pressure their families. After the military escalation, women were arrested to be a part of prisoner exchange and swap deals.


The arbitrary arrest began before the revolution erupted in 2011.. Arrest is a fundamental practice by the Assad regime, It’s the core of the regime nature.

All know that Syria has 13 Intelligence departments, each one has numerous prisons. Some are known and some are still secret, some are identified by a number and some have no number. All have been operating since the Assad family took power in 1970.

In 1980s, a large-scale arrest campaign launched by the Syrian regime, some cases had been documented for women apprehended over links with the Muslim Brotherhood, or the Communist Action Party, or even without a charge.

Adra Central Prison, which founded to be a civilian prison, was not much different from security services prisons.. ‘Adra’ and other prisons.. are cellars for detention where no judicial power, laws or legal regulations are being implemented.

The only benefit of Adra prison is the regime recognition of all people held in the detention.. While the detainees in other prisons have been abandoned and forgotten, without names or recognition, without any guarantees or rights, including. The right to life.
 
Who dies in security branches is deprived from his right in proper burial.. and in a tombstone mentions his name.

To reach Adra prison is a step towards freedom since its an admission that the female detainee is alive.. but that does not mean that she is approaching freedom .. because who put her in 'Adra' are able to forcibly disappear her again in new prison.

Sure, not all female detainees had been endured to physical assault, but all of them were subjected to psychological abuse. The deep impact damage is indelible. It can stay forever. The hardest experience of the detention is when you realize that, getting out of prison not always means you have obtained your freedom.

Most of the security prisons have underground cells. No windows, thick and clammy walls, bricks mashed with blood, clay saturated with tears, spirits choked with dust where nobody hears.

Blood has a smell, but has no voice, tears have a taste but have no voice. Souls have own whine but have no voice but only whining is a voice but has no sound.
 
Prisons of the Assad regime are still full, women prisoners are still there. alone with their grief amid the silence of the world.

(Zaman Al Wasl TV)- The young mother Safa' al-Asaad hopes she can get treat her right leg as well to get a prosthetic limb to the other in order to stand for her two kids and to play with them.

When she fled the regime bombardment in Hama province to a refugee camp in Idlib, she thought she would be save with her family, but a Syrian airstrike in 2017 left her without a leg as the other filled with fractures.

Safa lives now in Atmeh refugee camp at the Turkish border. Her husband abandoned her to make things tougher.

Tens of people’s injuries have turned into lifelong disabilities due to the severely restricted access to medical care causes. 

As the conflict in Syria continues, more lives are lost every day, not just due to the violence, but as people become victims of a failing health system that can no longer provide them with the health services they need to stay alive, accoridng to the World Health Organzation (WHO).

Yahya, who proffered to not mention his last name, was forcibly displaced from Aleppo to northern Syria.

For quick respond, the 'ambulance motorbike is able to evacuate the wounded trapped under rubble.

The motorbike is fully equipped with basic medical tools, led by a trained paramedic to provide first aid to the injured or patient.

This unique project requires funds, in order to expand the experience in the various and towns of the opposition-held areas in northern Syria to lessen the suffering of civilians.

(Zaman Al Wasl TV)- The Humanitarian Relief Agency (IYD), local NGO operating in northern Aleppo province, has launched projects for barley cultivation.

The in-door project consists of five cultivation rooms, two in Jarablus town and three rooms in Kibasin town. 

All rooms are provided with alternative energy, with a daily capacity of about 400 kg of barley.

The project, which is part of a drought-fighting project, aims at encouraging livestock breeders and farmers to set up special breeding rooms on their farms, benefiting cattle, improving their health and increasing milk production.

The winter never has been a merciful with millions of refugees who are stranded along the Syrian borders.  Their suffering mounts as the harsh season sweep their camps.

About 100 tents float in mud as most of the children have dropped out of the school.

The displaced families say they are not able to give their children chances to learn.

They are in dire need of blood transfusion every month amid severe health and living conditions. Their father died under torture by the Syrian security three years ago.

Mustafa's mother became the sole breadwinner. She works in the morning to secure the living necessities and to buy medicines for her two children.

Mustafa and Aseel seek an admission to the Turkish hospitals where they could get the proper treatment.

 (Zaman Al Wasl TV)- About 20 Syrian refugee women in Lebanese Arsal town have aborted due to the polluted water that might carried deadly virus, medics told Zaman al-Wasl.

A health official in the al-Irshad association, spoke on condition of anonymity, said all cases examined and treated did not contain any physical cases requiring abortion, such as drinking medicines or carrying heavy weights.

Their health records showed that they had not experienced any miscarriage before and that many children had had a normal birth. 

Abu Abdul Rahman, one of the Syrian refugees in the Huda camp in al-Masyada district, said the the polluted water is the reason for the tragic loss.

The camp includes 55 families, where five abortions have occurred.

"My wife, my sister, my niece and two of our neighbors were aborted on Tuesday, Abdul Rahman said.

 Zaman Al Wasl TV has interviewed the victims who demand the Lebanese authorities to investigate the reasons behind the mysterious abortion amid mounting discrimination the refugees face in Lebanon. 

For them, he matter is not just a matter of polluted water. 

About 55,000 Syrian refugees had returned since July, according to the Lebanese Caretaker Minister of State for Refugee Affairs Mouin Merehbi, such a number contrasts with that announced by General Security last week, which put the number of returnees at almost 90,000 during the same period. He went on to criticize what he called a lack of coordination between General Security and his ministry

Syrian activists have voiced concern about the fate of the Syrian refugees returning from Lebanon after Merehbi's statements who assured last week that 20 Syrian refugees who had returned from Lebanon to Syria had been killed by regime forces.

The prominent dissident said the Lebanese authorities have the full responsibility for the lives of the Syrians in Lebanon and for the life of those who forced them to return to the criminal regime.

The conflict has displaced more than 5 million Syrians outside the country, the United Nations says, with more than half displaced to Turkey and most of the rest split between Lebanon and Jordan

Thousands of Syrians are unable to return because their homes were destroyed in the fighting, or because they region fear military conscription or retribution from regime forces.

A survey made by Zaman al-Wasl on a random sample of refugees in the camps of Arsal, including 210 refugees, showed that 92% of the refugees had refused to return, while 8% had agreed to return to the towns that they described as safe in the western Qalamoun.

Her father suffers from a health situation that hinders him from taking care of the children, as he is hindered from work, which negatively affects the situation of the family, which makes the living situation very hard.

They live in a rented house, while the price of the rent is not always affordable, let alone the daily accommodation. The breadwinning is a burden .

The people are returning with great determination to rebuild their homes and to return to life again.

Presidents Vladimir Putin and Tayyip Erdogan agreed last month to set up the zone between rebels and regime, staving off a regime attack on the area, which the United Nations had warned, could cause a humanitarian catastrophe.

The agreement announced in Russia’s Black Sea resort of Sochi on Sept. 17 would establish the zone in a 15-20 km (10-12 mile) wide strip of territory now held by rebels, and calls for joint patrols of the area by Russian and Turkish troops.

The school-aged child has not been enrolled in school this September in spite of his dream to be a doctor. The desperate living condition of his family stands as a huge barrier.

Youssef works in a workshop for motorbike maintenance, an arduous profession that makes it difficult for adults, where he spends long hours each day.

For safety, his family left the town of Senjar in northern Idlib province to a makeshift room in the town of Saraqeb.  

Youssef wishes he could have met his father who was arrested 5 years ago by the regime security while retuning back home from Lebanon. 

Since the war began, thousands of Syrians children have been forced into child labor, many of these kids lost their loved ones and homes in their country’s brutal war.

A footage by the outspoken woman went viral last Friday on social media where the Syrian orator rallied with hundreds of people in the northwestern province of Idlib demanding Bashar al-Assad's overthrew, chanting the eight-year-old slogan, "The People Want to Bring Down the Regime". The slogan first emerged during the Tunisian Revolution

Zaman al-Wasl has interviewed Dr. Kisar, 44, in the town of Maarret al-Nu'man in order to shed the light on the story of a high-profiled activist whose most significant quality is that she is simply a Syrian citizen who was in love with her country and devoted to it, despite having the American citizenship. 



She chose to work with people, in the most difficult circumstances; starting from the relief field, reaching the establishment of a developmental educational organization, which she reached after having helped in rehabilitating managers of the local councils, and in building its structures and tasks. Rania Caesar’s is a Syrian tale worthy of being narrated and heard by the Syrians and by the entire world.

Kisar lived in the United States, where she studied, worked and then served as the director of the admissions office in the largest Dallas University in Texas. Then, she returned to Syria to work in Damascus, where she witnessed the start of the Syrian revolution with which she sided and did everything in her power to support the revolution and to help to Syrian people, stand by them and make sure their voices reach all corners of the world.

According to the regime's intelligence archive, obtained by Zaman al-Wasl, the State Intelligence issued an arrest warrant for Kisar in 2011.

This realistic character, Hussein, has suffered from the bitterness of war and displacement. He was displaced along with his family from the Sinjar area to the town of Harim after the Assad barrels destroyed their house. While his mother was preparing dinner in their primitive home devoid of the necessary elements of cooking and life in general, the flames of fire devoured Hussein’s face and body and forever distorted his forgotten childhood lost in the clutches of oppression and pain.   

The child is in urgent need today for periodical medical follow up, special treatment as well as several cosmetic surgeries. In order to finish his treatment, the child also needs to be transferred to one of the Turkish hospitals; but the head of the family is unable to afford the costs of treatment due to his obvious state of destitution and poverty.

(Zaman Al Wasl)- Adnan Al-Othman is a young man from Suran city, in the northern Hama countryside. He is 23 years old and lives in Suran refugee camp in the northern part of Aleppo.

Adnan has been suffering from a muscular dystrophy since he was three years old. It affected his four limbs, then extended to most of his body parts, leaving him completely and entirely disabled, unable to walk, unable to move, and unable to serve himself.

Since he was a child, Adnan has been passionate about his studies, however he couldn’t pursue his studies past the sixth grade because of the complexities of his muscle dystrophy, especially since he lost the ability to use his hands to hold a pen. Several years ago, Adnan's family were obliged to flee their home in the city of Suran, after the Assad militia had taken over the city.
Adnan consulted a number of hospitals of the north of Syria, and learned that his treatment is not available in the liberated areas , therefore he has to go to Turkey for the needed treatment of the physical therapy.

Adnan appealed, without success, to the concerned authorities and organizations to ensure him the medical travel to Turkey for the necessary treatment. Today, he still hopes that he will be ensured the medical travel for the treatment, so that he can support himself and help relieving his family’s burden.

The new microscope uses the red laser instead of the white light in the optical microscope, replacing the electrons in the microscope.

In cooperation with his colleagues, Ahmed Mahmoud Barkisia, and Abdul Rahman Ibrahim Kurds, Mohammad came to the decision concerning their graduation project, which consisted of the launching of an application called "Bazaar". An application that is supposed to be free a free, and dedicated to help promoting the Syrian women with small projects working from home.

Their graduation project began with a field study conducted on a number of these Syrian women, to come to the conclusion, later on, that the major obstacle that has faced their projects’ prosper, was the product marketing. 

The challenge faced by these women, inspired the main objective of the project. The young men's application project would provide these Syrian women with a free showcase for their products available to all ladies to showcase their products, so that all consumers would be able to know about their products, as well to be able to reach and purchase them.

Moving from one university major to another, Ahmed found himself, at last, most fit in the field of network marketing and electronic currency, which he is passionate about as well as creative.

Today, Ahmed is leading more than one team, earning more than enough income, hoping to develop his work and to tackle and to involve a wider range of young people.

(Zaman Al Wasl TV)- About 3000 families have fled their towns in southern Syria towards the Jordanian border and the Israeli-Occupied Golan Heights as regime forces backed by allied militias launch major offensive.

 Zaman Al Wasl TV has interviewed some of the displaced people who start building a new refugee camp in the town of Braiqa near the Occupied Golan Heights. They said regime would not dare to pound them to avoid the Isralei retaliation.

 Most of refugees fled an area so-called "Triangle of Death", which connects southern Damascus countryside with Daraa and Quneitra provinces.   Rebels say elite regime troops backed by Iranian-backed local militias have been escalating hit and run attacks on their posts in "Triangle of Death" north of Daraa. 

The UN on Thursday warned escalation in Syria's south could have dangerous repercussions for the estimated 750,000 civilians in the rebel-held area.

Syrian regime forces had so far made heavy use of artillery and rockets in the current assault, and Russian warplanes that were critical to the recovery of other rebel-held areas had not been deployed until now.

Jordan said Sunday it would be unable to host a new wave of Syrian refugees, according too AFP.
 
Some 650,000 Syrian refugees have registered with the United Nations in Jordan since fleeing their country's seven-year war, which was sparked by peaceful anti-regime protests in 2011.

Amman estimates the actual number is closer to 1.3 million people and says it has spent more than US$10 billion (RM40 billion) hosting them.

In recent weeks regime forces have dropped leaflets over Daraa and Quneitra, warning of impending military operations and calling on the rebels to surrender.

   (Zaman Al Wasl TV)- More than 3000 people, including rebels and their families, have been stranded in northern Syria after they failed to get permission to enter the Turkish-held areas of al-Abab and Jarabulus.

In this report, Zaman Al Wasl TV sheds the light on the suffering of northern Homs displaced.

About 58 buses stuffed with the disappointed evacuees have returned back to Qalaat al-Madiq in Homs where they will be distributed in 13 camps.

Evacuation operations were suspended for three days in central Hama and Homs provinces as the Turkish authorities say areas under its control are overloaded with displaced and the relief organizations can not afford the proper service for new displaced batches after receiving about 70000 people in the last few weeks.

Sources told Zaman al-Wasl taht the local negotiation committee in Rastan agreed with Russia to delay the evacuation efforts for three days in order to arrange better leaving conditions for rebels and their families.

Turkey argued that there were no places because of the influx of large numbers of displaced people as at least 25000 people were scheduled to leave central Syria. 

Hundreds of displaced people from southern Damascus and northern Homs province have been stranded at the gate of Abu al-Zendan, the main gate to the Turkish-backed forces in Jarabulus and al-Bab towns before changing the destination to Idlib.

A displaced woman from northern Homs died of heart attack at the gate of al-Bab town on Tuesday as activists blamed the Turkish-backed Euphrates Shield forces for delaying the entry of the evacuees.

Rebels representing several major Free Syrian Army factions capitulated to a Russian-imposed deal after marathon talks with Russian generals on May 2 in Dar al-Kabira town in the northern Homs countryside.

The deal forced them to hand in heavy weapons and gave those rebels not ready to make peace with the army the option of leaving with light arms to rebel-held areas in northern Syria, Reuters reported.

Russia exerted pressure by pounding the main towns of the enclave, where over 300,000 inhabitants live, in an escalation that killed and wounded dozens, rebels and residents said.

The war has been going Bashar Assad’s way since Russia intervened on his side in 2015. From holding less than a fifth of Syria in 2015, Assad has recovered to control the largest chunk of the country with Russian and Iranian help.

A major bombing campaign that began last February ended the last remaining pockets of opposition resistance in the Eastern Ghouta, the biggest enclave around the capital, that had for years withstood a siege and successive army onslaughts.
