Rawan Kaddah, 16-year-old, Syrian girl had forced to confess practicing sex jihad in an interview with Assad-run media, activists said.
Kaddah who belongs to a well-know family from the city of Dara'a where the Syrian revolution broke out March 2011, claimed that she had worked in Sex-Jihad, she confessed also that she was raped by her father.
Syrian Activists and law experts condemned the interview as another proof that Bashar al-Assad's media insist to defame the values and norms of Syrian people.
Veteran dissident and president of the National Co-ordination Body for Democratic Change Abroad, Haytham Manaa, said in video- statement surfaced on the Internet that Assad government committed a war crime in airing such confession by a child girl, where no evidence can prove what the honest Rawan said, assuring that the whole interview was fake and fabricated.
“Syrian children have had to face things in the horrors of war that no child should have to bear – interrogated, targeted, and attacked,” said Priyanka Motaparthy, children’s rights researcher at Human Rights Watch.
Rawan believed to be in detention, Manaa said, even if she's not, the Assad government committed a moral crime against childhood where the girl will bear its burden for the rest of her life.
Until now there's no news from the main stream opposition regarding the continuous violations against Syrian children.
Syria's conflict began in March 2011 largely as peaceful protests against Assad's rule. It escalated into a civil war after opposition supporters took up arms to fight a brutal government crackdown on dissent.
More than 200,000 people have been killed in the conflict, according to Syrian Human rights NGO's and 2 million Syrians, including one million children, have been forced to flee to neighboring countries, the United Nations says.
