Syrian Refugees: Fajr and Ahmed, cousins with hard medical conditions

Fajr and Ahmed are two refugee children in Jordan who suffer a critical health condition as they do not do have any support or medical treatment since they fled with their families the war-torn city of Homs two years ago.

Ahmed, a 3-year-old child has a condition of low platelets which caused him frequent bleeding, leading to anemia and fatigue and frequent bruises .

Ahmed's condition needs blood or platelets transfusion beside give cortisone, which has some bad side effects on him.

Ahmed’s father expressed his desperation of his son’s condition, besides his feeling of disability to work and afford the money needed for his son’s treatment, because he had had abdominal injury During conflict in Homs because of shelling which required removing part of his liver and intestines, beside a bullet in his thigh.

Fajr’s is another painful story, he was born 3 years ago in the countryside of Homs with cleft palate

His parents were not able to treat him straight away after delivery because of difficulties in transportation resulting from war, because of that he was not able to drink well and that affected his health.

Fajr’s parents were told that his operation would cost 200 thousand Syrian Pound, and that amount of money was not available.

When they managed to move to Jordan, his father tried to get help from different aid organizations, finally he got support from a man from the Gulf who paid for the operation, but unfortunately the operation was not successful, and Fajr's suffering has stayed ruining his life.
