(The Daily Star)- The Lebanese Army announced Thursday that it had arrested three people involved in transferring funds from Lebanon to Syria to fund armed groups.
Lebanese national Mohammad Dahrouj, who had previously been arrested for smuggling rockets, was one of the three suspects arrested by the Army Intelligence in Beirut Wednesday night.
The statement said that Syrian nationals Ahmad Najjar and Ayman Azama were also arrested, adding that all three confessed to illegally transferring funds to Syria.
The Army confiscated an unspecified amount of cash they were carrying.
