Fighters of al-Qaida-linked group,
Jabhat al-Nusra and the Ghuraba' al-Sham battalions stormed yesterday the
ammunition depots of Danha in the city of Yabroud, Damascus Countryside.
The rebels had blew up the same depots which were raided several
days ago by Liwa' al-Islam, where several heavy military pieces and advanced
missiles fell under the rebels control, the British-based Syrian Observatory
for Human Rights said.
Last night, the rebels of the Syrian-Lebanese border city suffered a violent
artillery shelling and rocket bombardment by the regime forces, as well as
helicopter bombardment; the Observatory reported killing 13 rebels and 45
wounded.
The clashes continued until dawn, no
reports on the number of regime losses. Helicopters also bombarded the Rima
area, by Yabrud city, with several explosive barrels, reports of 2 civilian
casualties and tens of injured. Helicopters continue to arbitrarily bombard
parts of Yabrud city, the activists told the opposition NGO.
Damascus witnessed today heavy mortar
pounding on the Barzeh neighborhood, in an area where a regime column was
positioned in the Basateen area, no reports of casualties, according to the
Observatory. Violent clashes also took place by the entrance to the Yarmouk
camp between rebel and regime forces.
According to information received from Syrian Revolution Martyr Database,
at least 5,840 people were killed in Damascus since March 2011.
Meanwhile, at least 150,000 people
have been killed in the conflict, according to Syrian Human rights NGO's.
