Syrian rebels on Tuesday have seized full control of Liwa 52, or the 52nd Brigade, and Battalion 14, powerful military posts, near al-Herak town in southern Daraa province, activists said.
In sudden attack, Southern Front rebels have also made rapid advances in al-Mleiha town, taking control of two checkpoints and the residence of Lithe commander of 52nd Brigade.
Southern Front spokesman Isam al-Rayyes said at least 70 soldiers have been killed, including 7 senior commanders.
Liwa 52 is considered as the second powerful mechanical army base in Syria.
