Syria regime forces execute 12 civilians in pro-Assad village of North Aleppo

Syria's regime forces have executed 12 civilians, 1 woman, in Tibarat al-Sakhaneh village, 20 km south of Khanaser town in north Aleppo, activists reported to the British-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.

''The regime forces had executed the civilians after storming the village, which is considered pro-Assad area,'' SOHR said.

In relevant context, rebel forces have stormed the Kweiris military airport. The rebels have burnt the airport HQ and some other buildings, several regular forces were killed, the Observatory said.

Rebels also have destroyed an ammunition depot with several rockets and mortars. 1 child from Ma'arsata al-Khan village was killed by regime bombardment on the village. The YPG has taken control of 3 regime tanks after detaining more than 70 regular soldiers who were fleeing from the Mennegh military airport 2 days ago.

On July 31, the United Nations said an estimated 6.8 million people are in need of humanitarian assistance in Syria.

Syria's conflict began in March 2011 largely as peaceful protests against Assad's rule. It escalated into a civil war after opposition supporters took up arms to fight a brutal government crackdown on dissent.

More than 150,000 people have been killed in the conflict, according to Syrian Human rights NGO's.
