'Tragic accident' seems to be the alternative phrase for being slaughtered, killed or tortured to death in the Assad Intelligence chambers.
The parents of Ismael Sharkes, 29, who tortured to death, have received his identity card, with no corpse to get; they ought to sign a paper declaring that their son was killed in a tragic accident. Where or when, nothing specified.
The Syrian Network for Human Rights have documented killing of 160 people under torture last July with more than 200, 000 detainee in the Assad prisons since the breakout of the Syrian revolution march 2011.
The Assad intelligence have adopted a systematic methodology of killing inside the prisons, most of the death cases are still hidden, activists said despite the increasing demands of their families to know their son's destiny.
A week ago, Zaman Alwasl reported about the corpses trading in Aleppo and other cities which had been increased by the Air Force Intelligence.
Hundreds of Syrian families are in big tragedy. They cannot bury their sons, only the lucky ones who can receive the corpses in the time or even after months.
''To get you brother or son corpse you have to pay,'' Human rights activist said to Zaman Alwasl, ''The prices averaged between 2000 $ and 10000 $ for each body,'' he added.
The sources revealed that Air Force Intelligence have two cemeteries for detainees who passed away under torture, they called it the 5-star cemeteries where they can sell the corpses of the detainees back to their families while the unknown corpses, they used to burn it as well as there's no one to ask about.
Keeping the detainees corpses under arrest is not a new procedure by the Assad regime. Leaked document by the regime military police circulated via social media pages, showed a permit of delivering a detainee corpse to his family after 7 months since his death.
The paper clarified that the victim was arrested in Intelligence Branches, his death date was 20-11-2012 and the date of delivering the body is 6-6-2013.
In relevant context, Assad's regime had adopted Mass Graveyards policy, especially with the casualties of the regime army to avoid their families' indignation, Activists said.
Syrian intelligence agencies are running torture centers across the country where detainees are beaten with batons and cables, burned with acid, sexually assaulted, and their fingernails torn out, Human rights reports revealed.
Thousands of people had been detained by the Department of Military Intelligence, the Political Security Directorate, the General Intelligence Directorate, and the Air Force Intelligence Directorate.
'They took our fingernails out with pliers and they made us eat them. They made us suck our own blood off the floor,' Human NGO's reported about detainees' situations.
More than 150,000 people have been killed in the Syrian conflict with unconfirmed number of detainees in Assad's chambers which exceeded 250,000, according to the U.N.'s recent estimate.
