Blasts kill six, injure 21 in Baghdad, Diyala

At least six people were killed and 21 others were injured in several separate explosions in the Iraqi capital of Baghdad and the eastern province of Diyala late Friday, security sources said.

One person was killed and two others were injured when a bomb placed in a vehicle carrying a Sunni tribal militia exploded in Baghdad's southern Hur Rajab area.

Another bomb attack claimed the lives of two people and injured eight others near a district bazaar in the capital's western Abu Ghraib district.

Two mortar shells that fell on Saba al-Bur area left one person dead and seven others injured.

A separate bomb blast killed two and injured four others in Diyala province’s Abu Sayda district.

Iraq has plunged into a security vacuum since June 2014 when Daesh stormed the northern province of Mosul and declared what it called a caliphate in parts of Iraq and Syria.
