Carnival near Damascus despite shelling

Syrian civil initiatives are working alongside with the revolutionary forces in order to break the siege of sadness and depression by the bloody 28-months of uprising.

'Nesmah' group, Syrian NGO, have organized a carnival in the embattled town of Kafer Batna in the East Gouta of Damascus, where more than 350 children have participated.

The event took place at the second day of Eid of 'al-Fitir' that comes after 30 days of fasting from dawn to dusk in the holy month of Ramadan.

Ouais al-Shami, one the Carnival organizers said The children were singing, laughing and playing despite the ongoing shelling and artillery noise,

The unexpected number of the participants had approved for all of us that the honest hearts can clean all feelings of revenge and hatred, al-Shamy added.
