Saad Dawabsheh, the father of a Palestinian baby burned to death in an arson attack by Jewish extremists in the West Bank, has died of injuries sustained in the incident.
The dead man’s brother, Nasr Dawabsheh, told Anadolu Agency by phone that Saad died after eight days in Soroka Medical Center in the Israeli city of Beersheba.
On July 31, Dawabsheh was wounded in an arson attack in which his son Ali, an18-month-old infant, was burned to death. Jewish settlers had attacked the family’s home in Duma village near the southern West Bank's city of Nablus.
UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon has sharply condemned the arson attack.
