Southern Front thwarts army attack on border town with Jordan

Southern Front fighters have thwarted on Wednesday an attack launched by regime forces and allied Shiite militias on border town with Jordan, activists said.

The key unit of the moderate Free Syrian Army repelled a major attack carried out by forces loyal to Bashar al-Assad on al-Mousaima town in al-Lajat region near Daraa city early Wednesday. Most of regime dead in the clashes were from Iran and Afghanistan, according to activists.

Al-Lajat region , an FSA stronghold, has turned into a conflicting area due to its strategic location on the Jordanian border where regime seeks to cut the main supply route for rebels.
