The United States and its allies launched 16 air strikes on ISIS-held town of Qaryatayn east of Homs, destroying number of civilians buildings, the hardline group said on Thursday, assuring no casualties reported amid its fighters.
The hardline group said the U.S.-led raids coincided with fierce clashes with Syrian regime forces east of central city of Homs in Hessyia region, where 9 soldiers had been killed, the statement said.
According to Reuters, the Combined Joint Task Force leading the U.S.-led air operations said the coalition had launched 29 air strikes on Wednesday against Islamic State militants in Syria and Iraq.
In Iraq, 21 air strikes targeted the militant group and its operations near seven cities, the task force said in a statement on Thursday. In Syria, eight air strikes hit near Al Hasaka, Aleppo and Kobani, destroying fighting positions and machine guns, it said.
