Former National Coalition Candidate, and current member, Ziyad Abu Hamdan, confirmed to take a unified stand against kidnapping acts and to fight kidnapping using media and other methods on the ground.
In a letter, which Zaman Alwasl obtained, he considered kidnapping, "one
of the many cases which the coalition failed to handle and failed to discuss in
any meeting."
Abu Hamdan addressed the National Coalition in a letter saying, the
kiddnaping acts is growing bigger. The first group who started and put it forth
is Al-nusra Front last year when they kidnapped tens of civilians from Druze vilages nearby Daraa. The ordeal of those kidnapped continues until this point.
He disclosed that despite broadcasting the kidnapping video in an official
meeting at the coalition and despite the kidnappers' threat to the Durzi Sect
to punish them collectively, no measure was taken.
People and the elders in Swyida made a rescue call to the coalition, still,
not even a single statement was issued
nor any procedure was taken to provide information about the kidnapped . No
real effort was made to release them if they are alive after 8 months has
passed to their kidnapping.
