Nusra Front blows up army checkpoint east Hama, 2 officers killed

Al Qaeda's Syria wing the Nusra Front has blown up an army checkpoint east Hama city, killing number of military personnel including two officers, sources told Zaman al-Wasl Sunday.

Al Sammakh checkpoint has been considered as one the most powerful bases east Hama city near Salamiyeh town, the stronghold of Ismaili minority, an offshoot of Shiite Islam.

Meanwhile, two officers were identified by rebels, Brigadier General Aakel Aakel and Major Shaaban Ahmed.
