Aleppo: YPG broke truce with rebels in Sheikh Maqsoud, two civilians killed

Zaman Al Wasl (ALEPPO)- The Kurdish People's Protection Units (YPG) on Wednesday morning has breached the truce held with rebels  in Sheikh Maqsoud neighborhood of Aleppo city, targeting the bystanders on the Castello road by sniper shots that left two civilians killed.

Zaman al-Wasl reporter  in Aleppo said YPG had breached the truce signed on Tuesday with the operations room of Fatah Aleppo, as they signed an agreement of many points and most important were to obliged the YPG to not open any crossing points with the Syrian regime and not to target by the Castello road again.

Witnesses mentioned that dozens of civilians have entered the neighborhood of Sheikh Maksoud Wednesday coming from areas under the regime’s control via the crossing point that People's Protection Units opened coordinating with the regime’s forces. Maj. Yasser Abd al-Rahim, the commander of the operations room of Fatah Aleppo considered as a breach of the Convention and gave the units a notice till Thursday morning to allow a joint committee of all factions to enter and monitor the closure of the crossing point.

Abdul Rahim declared to Zaman al-Wasl that the agreement between the operations of Fatah Aleppo and people’s protect units would be considered cancelled on Thursday morning it the YPG did not comply with its terms, the most important closure of the crossing point between the regime’s forces and to stop sniping civilians.

In a relevant context dozens of residents and activists in the city of Aleppo demonstrated in Alsokari neighborhood to denounce the violations of People's Protection Units Kurdish against civilians, and demanded that military factions operating in the city put an end to such violations, stressing the unity of the Syrian people and that the militia of YPG do not represent the honest Kurds.
