Syrian Kurdish militia says war could last 10 years

The commander of the YPG Syrian Kurdish militia said the country's civil war could continue for 10 years, in an interview published Thursday by monitoring group the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.

Sipan Hemo, whose group has seized wide areas of territory from ISIS in northeast Syria this year, said a solution to the four-year-old war was out of Syrian hands, with the country at the mercy of world powers invested militarily in the conflict, Reuters rsaid.

Meanwhile, two pedestrians have been killed on Wednesday by YPG snipers in Kurds-held Sheikh maqsoud neighborhood in northern city of Aleppo, residents told Zaman Al Wasl.

Fateh Aleppo, key rebel alliance in war-torn city, said YPG had broke a truce with rebels, opening fire in civilians on the castello road.

The rebel group has also accused YPG of allowing pro-Syrian regime militants to penetrate into rebel-held areas through Sheikh Maqsoud crossing.
