Few hours before the chemical attack on eastern and western Ghouta towns, members of the National Council SNC were deliberating the Idea of withdrawal from the Opposition Coalition.
Last Wednesday, Coalition top members announced freezing any participation
in Geneva 2 because it's meaningless after the brutal killing by the Chemical
weapons.
Zaman Alwasl knew intense discussions on keeping the national council in
the coalition took place at the General Secretariat of the coalition.
A private source told Zaman Alwasl there were accusations directed at
the one of the members who is believed to lead a campaign to persuade council's
representatives to compromise in Geneva2.
There was a conflict in presentations between Muslim Brotherhood
representatives. The contradictive stances between the representatives were put
into questioning. Faruk Tayfur, Vice of
MB Public Observer, contradictive Dr. Ahmed Sayid's presentations.
Also, Tayfur who is also the Head of National Coalition praised some
"new partners" who are old opposition figures and lately joind the
coalition.
It was reported to Zaman Alwasl that Omer Meshuh was elected a
representative of MB bloc permanently in place of Muhammed Basam Yusuf at the General Secretariat
of the council. Also, Dr. Abdul Rahaman Al-haj was elected a representative of
the National Bloc instead of Dr. Luay Safi.
George Sabra was elected Head of council, again.
It is worth mentioning the Syrian National Council was the first public opposition
body post revolution and was establish last October in Istanbul.
The council includes most of opposition bodies like Mb, Damascus
Declaration, the Syrian Conference for Change, and other revolutionary bodies.
The council later joined the Syrian National Coalition. The later was
established in November, 2013.
