At least 11 people killed in Russian air strikes on Idlib

At least 13 people, including 5 children, have been killed in Russian and Syrian air strikes on northern province of Idlib, activists and a monitoring group said on Saturday.

The Syrian network for Human Rights reported death of 11 people, including one civil defense soldier and a family of five children and their mother, in Russian missile attack on Ihsem town in the rebel-held province of Idlib. Two others passed away in regime barrel bomb attack on Tal Maraq village, the monitoring that track war in Syria said.

Russia's Air Force made over 20 flights in Syria in the past 24 hours and targeted nine Islamic State objects, Russian news agencies cited a Defense Ministry official as saying on Saturday.

The Defense Ministry official, Igor Konashenkov, said Su-34 and Su-24M aircraft took part in the strikes.

On Friday, activists said about 100 people had been killed in Aleppo and Raqqa due to the Russian air strikes.
