Coalition member breaches group's stand over Geneva talks, may expelled

Zaman Al Wasl has been informed by sources within the National Coalition for the revolutionary forces opposition that a breach of the statement issued by the political body of the coalition and the fighting groups on ground in regard to rejecting the four working groups of the U.N. envoy to Syria Staffan de Mistura on legal and practical levels. .

According to the sources, the breach took place last Wednesday when a meeting was held between "Volcker Peretz" the organiser of the military and security work and anti- terrorism group, one of the four working groups work for de Mistura, and Yasser al-Farhan, a member of the National Coalition for the revolutionary forces.

The meeting was faced with great deal of disapproval by members of the National Coalition and other civilian and military forces which considered the meeting as ignorance to the agreed statement issued by the military and civilian factions active on ground which agreed by the political body of the coalition.

Sources expressed that such violations, which claimed to be personal initiative and has nothing to do with the Coalition’s attitude, could give the impression of lack of cohesion among the members of the coalition and inability to make united decisions by all its members.

Sources added that a effort must be given to reach to voting for dismissing any member does not abide by the decisions of the political body or general body of the coalition, especially what happened recently, as the decision came from the forces working on ground in conjunction with the political body of the coalition.

The coalition and the more than 70 factions in Syria signed a statement in which they agreed on a common vision about the solution in Syria, warning of re-producing the regime. The Coalition explained that political offices of the revolutionary forces fighing on ground and the political body of the coalition were performing careful study of the proposals of UN’s envoy Staffan de Mistura.

The coalition considered that proposal of "working groups" presented by UN’s envoy is bypassing most of the United Nations’ resolutions concerning the Syrian crisis in particular resolutions 2118, 2165 and 2139.
