(Translation by Yusra Ahmed)

The Lebanese human rights activist Nabil Halabi released on his personal facebook page that news about freeing Abir al-Jaoor, the abducted Syrian girl who was abducted by a former criminal close to the Hezbollah militia in the town Alain in Baalabek area, and she was handed to the Information Center.

Ayoub Houry, Abir’s husband, who lives in the Sweden capital Stockholm, detailed what happened to his wife, who was in a visit to her uncle in Alain city in Baalabek to say goodbye to him before travelling to her husband in Sweden on 28-October.

Houry told Zaman al Wasl that she with her mother and her sister went to buy cake from nearby mall and suddenly they were stopped by a car and got all of them inside it, after driving for a while, the abductors threw the mother and sister and kept Abir and headed toward Nabi Osman area which is protected by Hezbollah.

The husband pointed out that the abductors’ car had gone through more than 7 barriers without stopping them by any of Lebanese army forces, starting at Alain near Fakhani through Labweh reaching to Nabi Osman.

Abir’s father complained to the security authorities 5 days ago, but Houry confirmed that the authorities were not able to catch the abductor under unclear explanation, hinting that the Lebanese authorities complicit in abduction cases done by some gangs against Syrian girls.

Houry revealed that his wife had run away from the abductor’s home, but his mother dragged her from hair in front all people and returned her back.

According to Abir’s husband, the abductor “Mehdi” has former accusation of abducting Lebanese and Syrian girls and all people of the region know his bad morals and personality but they were not ready to defend a Syrian girl.

Houry is banned from entering Lebanon for 5 years because he exceeded the allowed period inside Lebanon for 3 days, because he was busy in sorting out his marriage papers, which complicated the situation.

Abir's husband published a video on YouTube showed the abductor while he was trying to abduct the Lebanese girl Lilian Khaled Houry from the school bus and pulled her inside his car under protection of many armed men.

Abir case became a public opinion case in Lebanon and Syria which showed the weakness of the Lebanese authorities and lack of interest in Syrian people.
