Assad warplanes launch offensive on Ariha city, Killing 45 at least

45 people have been killed and dozens have been wounded by Bashar al-Assad's airstrikes on Ariha city in Idlib province; more than 55 air raids with massive destruction in infrastructure, activists said.

Tens of Ariha's people are under rubble, the Assad offensive came day after   rebels' announcing taking control of the city.

The explosive barrels were blindly hitting the suburbs of the city, activist reported. ''Till this moment we need an urgent medical and technical support to save people who still a live under demolished buildings.''

The city was captured by FSA Brigades yesterday after a week of intense fighting in the city between Assad's forces and battalions of Ahrar al-Sham, Jabhat al-Nusra and Suqoor al-Shab, the British-based Syrian Observatory said.

The rebels also have captured the pro-Assad National Defense Force checkpoints in the city.

Syria's conflict began in March 2011 largely as peaceful protests against Assad's rule. It escalated into a civil war after opposition supporters took up arms to fight a brutal government crackdown on dissent.

More than 200,000 people have been killed in the conflict, according to Syrian Human rights NGO's and 1.7 million Syrians, including one million children, have been forced to flee to neighboring countries, the United Nations says.
